I’m Dan Nielsen, a northern Minnesota real estate agent, investor, dad, and private pilot.
With roughly a decade of real estate sales experience and more than 14 years investing in properties myself, I bring firsthand knowledge and a genuine passion for helping people find their next home, lake getaway, or investment opportunity.
I live here, invest here, and love everything northern Minnesota has to offer. My approach is simple: honest advice, hard work, great communication, and treating people the way I’d want to be treated.
Real Estate Is More Than my Career
Real estate isn’t just what I do for a living. It’s something I’ve been passionate about for years.
With more than 14 years of firsthand investment experience, I’ve owned and worked with rental properties, self-storage, land, and unique investment opportunities.
One of my favorite projects is bringing a former northern Minnesota lake resort back to life, renovating cabins and turning a property with incredible potential into something special.
That experience has taught me to look beyond the listing photos and recognize both the opportunities and challenges that come with owning real estate.
Whether you’re looking for your first home, a lake cabin, or an investment property, I bring more than a sales perspective to the table. I’ve been on the ownership side of the equation, too.
A Little About Me
Outside of real estate, my favorite job is being a dad to two awesome boys, Blake and Chase. Whether we’re out on the lake, exploring somewhere new, or working on a project together, spending time with them is one of the best parts of my life.
I’m also a private pilot, and there’s something pretty incredible about seeing northern Minnesota from a few thousand feet above the ground.
When I’m not showing houses or flying, you’ll probably find me working on my lake property, renovating cabins, boating, or tackling whatever project I’ve convinced myself would be a great idea. (Those projects have a funny way of multiplying!)
I love the outdoors, the lakes, the people, and the lifestyle we get to enjoy here in northern Minnesota.
At the end of the day, I’m a dad, a pilot, an investor, a perpetual project starter, and someone who’s genuinely grateful to call this place home.
My Approach To Real Estate
I believe buying or selling real estate should feel like working with someone who’s genuinely in your corner. My approach is simple: honest conversations, straightforward advice, creative problem-solving, and communication that doesn’t leave you wondering what’s happening. I’m not interested in pushing someone into a decision just to close a deal. I’d much rather build a relationship, earn your trust, and be the person you feel comfortable calling years down the road. Sometimes that means helping you find the perfect property. Other times, it means telling you that a property probably isn’t the right fit. Either way, you’ll always get my genuine opinion. Real estate is about relationships, not just transactions.
